Abstract: The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) seeks approval for a study of Tribal Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) programs. The Multi-Site Implementation Evaluation of Tribal Home Visiting (MUSE) is the first multi-site, multi-model study that will systematically explore how home visiting programs are operating across diverse tribal community contexts and identify factors that lead to programs’ successes. The evaluation will provide information that will help the federal government design and support federal home visiting initiatives in tribal communities and similar populations. Evaluation findings will also assist programs with improving home visiting services for children and families. Through the proposed information collection, the evaluators will obtain information about the planning processes employed by Tribal MIECHV programs, the services implemented by those programs, the characteristics of staff and caregivers receiving services, and how staff and caregivers experience home visiting services. The evaluation will collect information through secondary data analysis, surveys of program staff and caregivers, qualitative interviews with staff and caregivers and administrative program data.
